COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,897 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,841 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two men in their 70s, one woman in her 70s, two women in their 80s, one woman in her 90s, and one woman aged over 100, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 151 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including five people in ICU, and one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 113 people are fully vaccinated, 34 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and four have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 70% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 14,327 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 14% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 3,897 PCR tests were positive, while 1,262 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Latest vaccination numbers from the Commonwealth have not been made available today.
