COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,467 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 15,367 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 60s and a woman in her 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 114 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 11 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 58 people are fully vaccinated, 20 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 36 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 8,972 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 12.6% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,109 PCR tests were positive, while 358 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Latest vaccination numbers from the Commonwealth have not been made available today.
