South Australia Covid update as at 27 March 2022

COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,815 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 29,824 active cases in South Australia.

There are 158 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including six people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 119 people are fully vaccinated, 35 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and four have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 70% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 13,692 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 4.4% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,587 PCR tests were positive, while 1,228 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Latest vaccination numbers from the Commonwealth have not been made available today.
