COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,907 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 24,837 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 80s, one in her 70s, and one in her 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 250 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 15 people in ICU, with two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 188 people are fully vaccinated, 54 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and eight have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 93.8% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 9,789 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 11.1% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,520 PCR tests were positive, while 1,387 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
