COVID Cases in SA

There have been 5,061 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 32,156 active cases in South Australia.

There are 175 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, and one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 120 people are fully vaccinated, 45 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 10 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 60% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 15,303 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 6.9% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 3,316 PCR tests were positive, while 1,745 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.2% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 70.5% of eligible South Australians and 62.8% of South Australians aged 16+.
