COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,363 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 17,199 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man and a woman aged in their 80s and a woman aged in her 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.

There are 223 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 15 people in ICU and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 124 people are fully vaccinated, 36 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 63 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 9,521 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 4.3% decrease on the previous 24 hours.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 94.6% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 91.2% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 60% of eligible South Australians and 42.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
