COVID Cases in SA

There have been 6,091 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 35,984 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s and two men in their 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 210 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 people in ICU, two of those ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 139 people are fully vaccinated, 53 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 18 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    The latest genome sampling has found around 60% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 17,672 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 4.5% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 4,047 PCR tests were positive, while 2,044 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.2% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.1% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.1% of eligible South Australians and 63.8% of South Australians aged 16+.
