COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,089 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 19,030 active cases in South Australia.

There are 97 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 13 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 57 people are fully vaccinated, 14 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 26 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 10,323 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 26.7% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,428 PCR tests were positive, while 661 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 94.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.1% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 68.9% of eligible South Australians and 58.1% of South Australians aged 16+.
