COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,984 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 21,418 active cases in South Australia.

There are 228 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 122 people had received three or more vaccine doses, 100 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and six have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 94.9% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 6,610 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 14.4% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,439 PCR tests were positive, while 1,545 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.5% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.5% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.8% of eligible South Australians and 66% of South Australians aged 16+.
