Southern Highlands man charged over child abuse material, NSW

A Southern Highlands man has been charged over alleged possession of child abuse material.

Last Saturday (26 October 2019), officers attached to the Southern Highlands Police Station were notified about alleged child abuse material being discovered.

About 1.30pm Monday (28 October 2019), detectives from The Hume Police District executed a search warrant at a home in Wingello Street, Wingello, west of the Kangaroo Valley.

Officers located and seized about 20 electronic storage devices; police will allege in court that the devices contained child abuse material.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and taken to Southern Highlands Police Station where he was charged with three counts of possession of child abuse material and one count of using a carriage service for child abuse material.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 3 December 2019.
