Southern suburbs man charged over child exploitation material

A man will appear in court today charged with possessing child exploitation material.

Last night, Thursday 26 October, as a result of a referral from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team, a joint team with the Australian Federal Police and South Australia Police, the Special Crime Investigation Branch arrested a 44-year-old man from the southern suburbs.

He was charged with possessing child exploitation material, refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today, Friday 27 October.

Detective Senior Sergeant Amanda Lewis, Special Crime Investigation Branch states, “The possession of child abuse videos and images is not a victimless crime. Anyone who has information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.accce.gov.au/report If you know abuse is happening right now or a child is at risk, call police immediately on Triple Zero (000).”
