Latrobe City Council is extremely pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with the newly established Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) Southside Flyers. The Southside Flyers, based at the Dandenong Stadium are looking to incorporate Gippsland as their very own. The Flyers will play their first Gippsland based game at the Traralgon Basketball Stadium against the Bendigo Spirit on Saturday 26 October with tip off at 5pm.
The Flyers will bring an experienced squad, including past local Jenna O’Hea, and will be sure to provide some high-quality basketball to the region. The opportunity to showcase to our community a variety of sports is very important to Council. These major events create significant economic benefits, bring elite sportspeople to our community and also provide community engagement opportunities.
