Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria – the largest is Thomas Embling Hospital, located in Fairfield ,15 minutes north of the Melbourne CBD. Thomas Embling Hospital is a 116 bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care services.
About the role:
As a Specialist Family Violence Advisor you will provide expertise and support for Forensicare staff to identify and respond to clients either experiencing or perpetrating family violence. You will encourage and support joint practice and collaboration across the three sectors of mental health, AOD and family violence to provide practice leadership and an enhanced response to family violence.
Qualification, skills and experience:
- A degree in social work or nursing
- Extensive practical management and leadership experience (minimum two years) in the health sector
- Significant experience working in family violence with a good knowledge of the mental health sector, preferably with supervisory experience
