A man from southern Tasmania has been detected travelling at 151km/h on Highland Lakes Road, Liawenee over the weekend.
The man was fined and faces having this licence disqualified for four months. He will receive a further infringement for ignoring road closure signs on Highland Lakes Road which were limited to 4WD access only.
It is important to obey all road closure signage and warning signs, particularly in the hazardous conditions we have been experiencing over the past week.
Ignoring road closure signs puts lives at risk and risks the safety of emergency services who have to respond in those conditions. This driving behaviour will not be tolerated and infringements will be issued.
Anyone with information about dangerous driving behaviour should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania anonymously on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperstas.com.au.
