Speeding whilst drink-driving at Tamborine

Police have charged a man for allegedly speeding more than 40km/hr over the limit while intoxicated at Tamborine on November 13.

It will be alleged that around 3pm, an officer was conducting a motorcycle rider safety course and escorting a group of participants along Waterford Tamborine Road when he detected vehicle travelling at 142km/hr in the 100km/hr speed limit zone.

The officer intercepted the driver who then allegedly blew over the limit at the roadside breath test.

The man was transported back to Jimboomba police station where he allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.124%.

A 42-year-old Yarrabilba man has subsequently been charged with one count of drink-driving and was issued a $1286 infringement notice for speeding, with 8 demerit points recorded.

He is scheduled to appear at the Beaudesert Magistrates Courte on December 12.
