Sport and Recreation grants program is open

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Sport and Recreation

Playing sport is key to establishing lifelong healthy habits, and has a range of individual and social benefits, including improving physical and mental health, fostering social skills, and developing teamwork and leadership skills.

Applications are now open for grants of up to $60,000 under the 2020 Sport and Recreation State Grants Program.

The State Government provides the grants funding to state sporting organisations, state disability sporting organisations, state sector service providers and state active recreation providers.

Grants of up to $60,000 are available to assist organisations to deliver sport and recreation opportunities in Tasmania.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to ensuring more Tasmanians can play sport and take part in active recreation activities to support our aspirational target of having the healthiest population in the nation by 2025.

To achieve this, we provide a range of grant programs, administered by Communities Tasmania, to provide opportunities for Tasmanians to participate in sport and active recreation.
