Sports car driver fined, licence suspended over speeding, NSW

A driver has had his licence suspended and number plates confiscated after being caught allegedly travelling nearly twice the speed limit in the Royal National Park.

About 2pm on Monday (24 August 2020), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement duties on Lady Wakehurst Drive, when they detected a Toyota 86 sports car allegedly travelling 117km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with driver and sole occupant, a 27-year-old man.

He was issued an infringement notice for exceed speed limit by more than 45km/h and his licence suspended for six months.

The Banksia man’s vehicle number plates were also confiscated for three months.
