
Hume City Council is encouraging young residents to get involved in sport and physical activity, with applications now open for the 2026/27 Sports Aid Grants Program.
The program provides financial assistance to Hume residents facing barriers to participation in sport and recreation, helping cover costs such as club memberships, registration fees, uniforms, equipment and swimming program fees.
With 133 sports grants awarded in last year’s program. In 2026/27 the program will continue to support a broad and diverse range of applicants, with a particular focus on increasing participation among women and girls.
The Sports Aid Grants Program plays an important role in ensuring more residents have the opportunity to experience the physical, social, and mental wellbeing benefits that sport provides.
Residents interested in applying are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and submit their applications as early as possible.
Applications will remain open until available funding is exhausted.
