Shop in our Shire at participating Nillumbik businesses and go into the running to win a $500 gift card. Our local retailers have a unique range of products and services to provide inspiration for the perfect Christmas gifts.
Nillumbik Mayor Ben Ramcharan said Christmas was a wonderful time of year in the Shire.
“As a Council, we are proud to support a range of festive events and activities through our Festive Fund grants program,” Cr Ramcharan said.
“We also want to support Nillumbik businesses and boost our local economy and jobs by encouraging people to shop in the Shire.”
There will be Christmas carol performances at shopping centres in Diamond Creek, Eltham, Research and Hurstbridge to spread the Christmas vibe.
Community events supported through the Festive Grants program range from concerts, carols, picnics and family friendly activities to festive decorations, lights displays and twilight Christmas markets. The Rotary Club of Eltham’s Christmas Concert in the Park on Sunday 17 December is sure to be a huge hit and is supported by a Council Triennial grant.
Living & Learning Nillumbik is running a Christmas Toy Drive with donations going to Diamond Valley Community Support to be given to local families struggling this festive season. Donations of toys can be dropped at our three Neighbourhood Houses in Eltham, Diamond Creek and Panton Hill until 8 December. Toys need to be new, unwrapped and still in their original packaging. No stuffed toys please.
Entries to the Shop in our Shire Competition close at 11.59pm, Sunday 17 December and the competition will be drawn on Monday 18 December.
