Stabbing in Adelaide, South Australia

A man has been arrested following an aggravated assault in the City early this morning.

About 12.30am Sunday 28 November emergency services were called to Currie Street after reports that a man had been stabbed.

Upon police arrival the suspect had fled the scene. The victim, a 21-year-old Modbury Heights man, was treated at the scene for life-threatening injuries before being rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police searched the area locating the suspect in a Hindley Street business about 2.30am. The 20-year-old NSW man is expected to be charged with attempt murder and will be refused bail. He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday. The victim and suspect are known to each other.
