Stabbing in CBD

Police are investigating after a security guard was stabbed in the CBD this evening.

Police were called to the City Cross Arcade just before 5.30pm on Friday 21 April.

It is alleged a security guard attempted to stop four young males suspected of shoplifting at a sports store. When confronted, one male in the group stabbed the security guard before all four ran off.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. His injuries are not considered life threatening.

A number of patrols are currently searching the area and crime scene investigators have attended the scene.

As a result, part of City Cross Arcade has been closed and people are asked to avoid the area.
