Standing up for Bayside ahead of the Victorian Election 2026

As members and candidates gear up to face the Victorian Election in November, we are advocating strongly for the projects and services that are critical to supporting Bayside’s future growth, liveability and community wellbeing.

Advocating to other levels of government in the interests of our community is an essential role of local government.

Bayside Mayor, Cr Debbie Taylor-Haynes called on the Victorian Government to work more closely with local communities as major changes reshape Melbourne.

“We are focused on making sure Bayside residents continue to have access to the infrastructure, services and community facilities needed to support a growing population,” Cr Taylor-Haynes said.

“We’re advocating strongly for projects and funding that will protect neighbourhood character, improve community safety, strengthen transport connections and ensure our residents can continue to access the services and facilities they rely on.”

Our advocacy priorities align with three strategic goals of the Council Plan 2025 – 2029: Our People, Our Place and Our Promise, and the Bayside 2050 Community Vision.
