Statement Of Council CEO Regarding Mayor Patricia White

Shoalhaven City Council CEO Andrew Constance advises that Mayor Patricia White is currently taking a leave of absence from her official duties following a recent, serious health diagnosis.

On behalf of all Councillors and staff, we extend our full support to Mayor White during this time.

Her health and wellbeing are our primary concern. We ask that the community and media respect her privacy and that of her family as she focuses on her recovery.

To ensure Mayor White can rest without distraction, we kindly request that no one contact her directly. All inquiries regarding Council matters should be directed to my office or the Council’s main contact channels.

We look forward to welcoming Mayor White back to the Council when she is ready. In the meantime, the Council will continue to operate as usual to serve the Shoalhaven community.

Deputy Mayor Peter Wilkins will be undertaking official duties on behalf of Mayor White in her absence, including the chairing of the August ordinary meeting of Council.

Commencing today he will also be chairing the Finance and Infrastructure Review Panel.

I am sure I speak for the entire community when I say we are thinking of Mayor White and wishing her a very speedy and full recovery.

Once again, I reiterate our call for privacy.

Andrew Constance, CEO, Shoalhaven City Council.
