Statement on the resignation of Children’s Commissioner Colleen Gwynne

The Children’s Commissioner of the Northern Territory, Colleen Gwynne, has resigned from office to remain interstate to explore other opportunities.

Ms Gwynne has served the Northern Territory public sector since 1988, including 25 years of service with the Northern Territory Police.

Ms Gwynne was first appointed as Children’s Commissioner on 11 June 2015 for a term of five years, and was reappointed on 7 May 2020 for a further term of five years.

We acknowledge her contributions to protect the most vulnerable members of our community, children.

The Northern Territory Government wishes her and her family all the best.
