Northern Grampians Shire Council is pleased to announce that supported playgroups will recommence starting Monday 13 July for the duration of the school term until further advised.

Programs will function as per pre-COVID-19 conditions but the number of children who can participate will be limited and some activity restrictions will apply.

Stawell supported playgroup will return on Wednesday 15 July at the Stawell Library from 10am with a limit of 10 attendees.

Marnoo supported playgroup will return on Monday 20 July at the Marnoo Primary School from 10am with a limit of 16 attendees.

At both playgroup sessions, attendees will not be permitted to bring food and toys will be limited to help reduce the potential spread of Coronavirus.

Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Murray Emerson, said council is thrilled to have playgroups back up and running.

“Council recognises supported playgroups as an essential service and early learning pathway within our shire,” he said.

“We anticipate that parents, guardians, and children will be very excited to see the return of this service to provide some routine and social interaction in our region.”
