Stealing with violence in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are investigating an incident in which a group of people assaulted two men in Alice Springs on Sunday morning.

Around 2am, the two men aged 18 and 19-years-old were walking along Stuart Terrace when they were approached by a group of youth.

It is alleged the group demanded cigarettes and money before physically assaulting them.

The pair ran to a taxi parked nearby, which drove them to safety.

The two men suffered injuries to the head and face and reported the incident to police later that morning.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and its surrounds to identify the youth involved in the incident.
