Still time left to contribute to new Merbein Community Plan

Transforming Merbein’s main street into a more vibrant place to visit, playground upgrades, and more walking and cycling paths are among ideas that have emerged so far as part of development of the town’s new Community Plan.

Merbein Development Association and Mildura Rural City Council are working together on the plan, undertaking a comprehensive community consultation process with residents since 10 May this year.

Councillor for Community Development and Gender Equality Helen Healy thanked residents who have provided their feedback so far, reminding the community there is still time to provide feedback.

“Merbein residents have really embraced the chance to shape their town’s future, which is what this is all about – a chance for local residents to shape the town in which they live, and it’s been great to see how enthusiastic and proud Merbein residents are about their town,” Cr Healy said.

“Given this feedback will form the basis of the Merbein Community Plan 2022-2026, it’s vitally important as many residents as possible provide their feedback.

“We’ve had some great feedback so far, but I’d encourage those who haven’t provided us with their thoughts yet to do so over the coming week, as there’s still time,” Cr Healy said.

Feedback can be provided online until this Thursday 16 June by visiting https://yoursay.mildura.vic.gov.au/MCP26
