Police have arrested a man after an allegedly stolen $250,000 car was tracked on GPS when it was stolen and towed through Diamond Creek yesterday afternoon.
It’s alleged the offender used a stolen Ford Territory to hitch up a trailer with the Skyline GTR on board.
The owner was monitoring his vehicle via GPS, which had recently been delivered from overseas, when he noticed suspicious movement yesterday in Nutfield and notified police.
Police followed the car through Diamond Creek and attempted to intercept it.
The Ford Territory then collided with a police vehicle on Reynolds Road, causing moderate damage however no one was injured.
The Air Wing took up the chase and continued to follow the car through Hurstbridge, before it crashed into a fence at a property on Kamarooka Drive.
The male driver got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot, before being arrested nearby.
The 20-year-old Bundoora man was arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.
