Stolen 4WD torched at Penfield, South Australia

A stolen four wheel drive used in two ram raids in the north eastern suburbs on Friday night was torched at Penfield overnight.

Police and MFS crews responded to reports of a car fire on Pellew Road, Penfield.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze before police arrived.

Inspection of the vehicle confirmed it was the same car used in two break-ins the previous night; at a car spare parts business on Golden Grove Road, Ridgehaven and a bike store on North East Road, Valley View.

Two e-bikes were stolen during the second break-in.

The silver Toyota Landcruiser, WSX861, had been stolen from Waterloo Corner on Friday.

Police are also investigating links to previous break-ins in the north eastern surburbs that occurred earlier in the week.
