Stolen car charges at Beenleigh

Police have charged three people in relation to two allegedly stolen vehicles in Beenleigh yesterday afternoon, November 6.

Around 4.30pm, police observed an allegedly stolen silver Lexus station wagon abandoned in a carpark along George Street.

While officers were on scene, three people have returned to the car and upon seeing police, tried to flee on foot.

One of the group, a 17-year-old Logan Central boy, climbed up on the roof of a nearby building. The other two remain outstanding.

Police, with the assistance of QFES, used a cherry picker to bring the 17-year-old back down safely and take him into custody.

He has been charged with one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unregulated high risk activities.

He is expected to appear at Brisbane Childrens Court on November 13.

While the 17-year-old was being taken into custody, two other people, believed to be associates, arrived at the scene in an allegedly stolen Toyota Yaris.

Police also took them into custody at the scene.

A 35-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property.

He is expected to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 6.

A 14-year-old Edens Landing girl has been charged with one count of driving without a licence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of stealing.

She is expected to appear at Beenleigh Children’s Court on November 13.

The Lexus was reported stolen from a Robertson address on November 6.

The Yaris was reported stolen from a Kingston address on November 3.

Investigations are continuing.
