Stolen car charges at Coomera, QLD

Police have charged two teenagers following an alleged stolen car incident at Coomera yesterday, September 19.

It will be alleged at approximately 11.20am, a grey Mercedes Benz was travelling along Foxwell Road when it crashed into a barrier.

Two teenage boys allegedly left the scene on foot and were located by police nearby a short time later.

The alleged driver, a 16-year-old Pimpama boy, was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was later charged with two counts each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count each of drive without due care and attention, and driving without a licence.

He is due to appear at Southport Childrens Court today, September 20.

A 14-year-old Southport boy was charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle and was issued a notice to appear at Southport Childrens Court on September 27.

Police will allege the Mercedes was stolen from a Swan Road property at Pimpama just before 11am on Tuesday September 19.

Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to come forward.
