Stolen car collides with police at Aldinga Beach, South Australia

Two men have been arrested after a stolen car collided with police at Aldinga Beach today.

About 3.30pm on Sunday 12 December, police spotted a stolen Subaru Outback in the driveway of a home in Dover Street. The Subaru had been stolen during a house break-in at West Lakes the night before.

The police patrol pulled up behind the Subaru and the two officers got out and approached the vehicle. The driver then allegedly drove at the two officers, narrowly missing them but collided with the patrol car before driving off. Thankfully no one was injured.

Police patrols flooded the area and the stolen Subaru was spotted travelling north on Commercial Road but was lost sight of again.

A short time later, it was found abandoned in Penzance Street at Port Noarlunga South. Two men ran from the car but were quickly arrested in Weatherald Terrace.

A 26-year-old man from Christie Downs and a 20-year-old man from St Marys will be charged with two counts of acts to endanger life, driving at a speed and manner dangerous and illegal use of a motor vehicle. Investigations are continuing.
