Stolen car crashed at Mitchell Park, South Australia

A man was injured after a stolen car crashed at Mitchell Park overnight.

Police and emergency services responded to a two car crash at the intersection of Sturt Road and Marion Road, Mitchell Park just before 2am on Thursday 22 November.

A passenger of the grey Peugeot was injured, however, the driver ran off prior to police arrival.

The car had been stolen just minutes before from a nearby address.

The passenger, a 19-year-old man from the western suburbs, was arrested and taken to the Flinders Medical Centre for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening. He will be charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, illegal use and theft and may face the Adelaide Magistrates Court later this afternoon once released from hospital.

Fortunately, the innocent motorist was not seriously injured in the crash.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Investigations are continuing to locate the outstanding suspect.
