Stolen car crashed at Newton, South Australia

A woman has been arrested after crashing a stolen car in front of police at Newton this morning.

Police patrolling the Newton area came across a vehicle in Palumbo Avenue. The driver of the car seemed to panic and tried to drive across a vacant block of land and crashed into a fence and a parked car.

The driver was not injured in the crash. The stolen white Holden sedan, fence and parked car all sustained minor damage.

The driver, a 42-year-old Salisbury woman, was arrested and charged with illegal use and will be fined for traffic offences.

The stolen car was towed from the scene.
