Stolen Vehicle And Traffic Crash Incident At Toowoomba

Police are investigating following the theft of a vehicle and subsequent traffic crash in Toowoomba this morning, 29 June.

It will be alleged around 7.15am a man entered a business on Ruthven Street stealing a set of keys before taking a 2022 Mazda CX-3 and leaving the premises through a locked gate.

As the vehicle was leaving the property, it is alleged a female employee was struck by the gate causing her to fall to the ground and sustain an injury to her wrist.

A short time later around 7.20am the stolen vehicle was involved in a collision with a Mazda CX3 and a Hyundai Sante Fe near the intersection of Ruthven and Little Streets, before the driver of the stolen vehicle fled the scene on foot.

The driver of the Mazda received minor injuries while the Hyundai was unoccupied at the time.

Police later located a 25-year-old Warwick man at a nearby address.

He is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigations remain ongoing.
