Police have charged six teenagers after two stolen cars were allegedly driven from the Gold Coast to South Brisbane overnight.
It will be alleged that around 10.10pm, a Range Rover and a BMW were stolen from a Maryland Avenue home in Carrara.
PolAir tracked the two vehicles which began travelling north at speed through Coomera before heading north on the M1 towards Brisbane and onto the Gateway Motorway.
Officers successfully deployed a tyre deflation device along Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road in Wishart shortly before 1.30am.
The vehicles were abandoned along Willet Street in Wishart and six teenagers fled the scene on foot.
Dog squad officers tracked the group, and located them along Milanion Crescent in Carindale.
Two 15-year-old Pimpama boys, a 15-year-old Runaway Bay boy, a 17-year-old Marsden boy, a 15-year-old Peranga boy and a 14-year-old Oxenford boy have been charged with one count of burglary and two counts of unlawful use of a motorvehicle.
Five of the juveniles will appear at Brisbane Children’s Court tomorrow and the sixth will appear at Brisbane Children’s court on August 12.
Investigations are continuing.
