Police are investigating the alleged theft of a motor vehicle from a Goondiwindi motel this morning, 10 August.
Around 6am, a 71-year-old man had attended a motel on Phar Lap Court and whilst out of his vehicle was approached by a group of five people.
It will be alleged some members of the group were armed with machetes and threatened the man before stealing his vehicle.
The man was not physically injured during the incident.
The stolen Landcruiser was later located abandoned at Toomelah Mission in northern New South Wales.
Detectives from the Goondiwindi Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
Investigations remain ongoing.
