Stolen vehicle located; investigations continue into crash and carjacking in Arncliffe

Investigations are continuing into a carjacking after a crash in the M5 tunnel at Arncliffe yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called to the M5 tunnel near Marsh Street just before 12.30am (Saturday 14 September 2019), after reports of a crash and carjacking.

Police have been told that after two cars – a Mazda and Range Rover – were involved in a collision, two male occupants from a Honda stopped to render assistance, before five male occupants from the Mazda entered the Honda.

The driver of the Honda was threatened with a knife when he tried to stop it from leaving, before it drove away towards Marsh Street.

Following inquiries, officers patrolling Oxley Park about 5pm (Saturday 14 September 2019) located a Honda Accord, believed to be the vehicle stolen during the M5 tunnel incident.

No arrests have been made as inquiries by St George Police Area Command continue.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have seen or captured dashcam footage of the black Honda Accord Euro with NSW registration ‘EDB35X’ before it was left in Oxley Park to come forward.
