Stolen vehicle pursued in Northern suburbs, South Australia

A woman has been arrested following a brief pursuit in the Northern suburbs early this morning.

Just after 3am Monday 19 November Northern District patrols spotted a Toyota Corolla travelling along Main North Road at Salisbury East. Checks revealed the car had been stolen from a break in at Parafield Gardens Saturday 10 November.

Patrols attempted to stop the car but it took off away from them a pursuit ensued before patrols briefly lost the car in the back streets of Salisbury Downs. A short time later police found the car dumped close to a reserve near the intersection of Gumbrae Avenue and Riverview Drive.

Police dog PD Havoc and PolAir were called in to assist with the search while patrols cordoned the area. When police conducted a search of the abandoned car they allegedly located property baring the name of a woman which led them to an address nearby.

Police searched the home and located a woman hiding in a bedroom. The 18-year-old Elizabeth Vale woman was arrested and charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, fail to truly answer questions, unlicenced and illegal use of motor vehicle.

She was bailed to appear at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 2 January.
