Street Art Festival is Back for 2022

NT Government

More splashes of colour and vibrant artwork are set to appear throughout the Darwin CBD and suburbs, as the Darwin Street Art Festival launches for 2022.

The Darwin Street Art Festival officially starts on August 12 in the suburbs, with the CBD area kicking off on 26 August.

This year’s theme is ‘Looking Forward’ and artists will contribute to the Festival through a variety of formats including murals, exhibitions and new augmented reality in the Darwin Street Art Festival App.

A number of temporary walls will pop up throughout the Festival, along with hidden artwork all around the CBD.

These temporary walls will be painted by emerging artists and there will also be some new augmented reality pieces in the Street Art Festival app, bringing more of our artworks to life.

The Darwin Street Art Festival is a Northern Territory Government funded initiative, delivered by local business Proper Creative and administered by Activate Darwin.

This year, the Festival has also received some funding from the Regional Arts Fund to promote tours of street art across the NT.

Details of each artist involved in the Festival, including locations, will be released in coming weeks.
