Police in the state’s north have established a Strike Force following the suspicious deaths of two men this month.
About 3pm on Sunday 13 September 2026, police were called to a house on Summerland Way, Gurranang, following reports a man’s body was found inside.
Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
The man has since been identified as a 79-year-old.
About 3.40pm today (Monday 28 September 2026), police attended the same location to conduct further inquiries into the 79-year-old man’s death.
Upon arrival, police located the body of a man, believed to be aged in his 50s.
A crime scene was established at the home.
Detectives, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Faneel to investigate the men’s deaths, which are believed to be suspicious.
