Strike Force Trident – Arrests – Northern Suburbs 17 October

Northern Territory Police have arrested 3 youths after more than $30,000 damage was done to a business in Woolner.

About 1:40 am on Friday morning the 3 youths aged 12, 12 and 11 gained access to the business by smashing a glass window.

Once inside they allegedly stole a small amount of loose change before causing a substantial amount of damage to property inside.

The trio then attended a business in Winnellie where they allegedly stole a Toyota RAV4 and spent hours driving around Darwin.

During this time multiple phone calls were made to police communications about the dangerous manner in which the RAV4 was allegedly being driven, including forcing other vehicles off the road and driving at high speed on the wrong side of the road.

Strike Force Trident and Dog Operations Unit then co-ordinated a response to the reports and with the assistance of information provided by the members of the public were able to locate the vehicle dumped in bushland off Vanderlin Drive.

The trio were then arrested as they exited from the bushland and have been charged with multiple property offences.
