Strike Force Vulcan detectives have charged a youth in relation to a fire in Midvale on Wednesday, 6 November 2019.
It is alleged about 10.50am, the boy was walking in a westerly direction on the southern side of Morrison Road at the intersection of Roe Highway, when he set fire to two areas of dried grass. Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended and extinguished the fire.
It is further alleged the boy threw a baseball at a Mack truck that had turned from Roe Highway onto Morrison Road. The ball smashed the windscreen of the truck causing the driver to brake heavily which almost caused a traffic crash.
The 15-year-old boy from Northam has been charged with:-
• Wilfully Light or Cause to be Lit a Fire Likely to Injure or Damage; and
• Cause Fear with Object or Substances to People in Conveyances or Others.
He is due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court today, 21 December 2019.
