Strong demand for domestic services as Jetstar resumes Auckland flights

Auckland, Wednesday 15 December 2021: After four months, Jetstar returns to the skies in Auckland, with strong demand for the airline’s low fares services ahead of Christmas.

More than 4,000 customers are set to board flights today, with Jetstar helping to reunite loved ones and boost local tourism.

The resumption of services will see Jetstar initially flying 85 return flights per week to four destinations from Auckland (Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Queenstown) with the airline looking to add more services as demand rebounds.

COMMENTS FROM JETSTAR GROUP CEO, GARETH EVANS

“There is a lot of pent-up demand for service in to and out of Auckland and we’ve seen a strong response from customers snapping up our great low fares.

“Many of our customers are travelling to see family and friends but we are also seeing lots of people booking for future holidays and weekends away.

“It’s also great to have more of our crew flying again. They are just as excited as our customers are to be back in the air – we can’t wait to welcome travellers back to Auckland.”

Jetstar’s December-January Auckland domestic schedule is:

  • Auckland to Wellington (27 return weekly flights) with fares starting from $39
  • Auckland to Christchurch (30 weekly return flights) with fares starting from $44
  • Auckland to Dunedin (7 return weekly flights) with fares starting from $63
  • Auckland to Queenstown (22 return weekly flights) with fares starting from $69
