Melton City Council’s waste, recycling, and library services have all rated highly in the 2022 Community Satisfaction Survey.

Conducted independently by Metropolis Research, the survey involved telephone interviews with 800 randomly selected residents in June and July, who rated satisfaction (out of 10) with each of the 34 Council services and facilities included in the survey.

This is Council’s eighth annual community satisfaction survey.

Melton City Council Mayor Cr Goran Kesic has welcomed the results of the 2022 Community Satisfaction Survey.

“This survey is a great way for Council to understand how people feel about the broad range of services and facilities that we provide. It also reveals levels of satisfaction and things that are important to our community,” Cr Kesic said.

“We always strive for the highest performance and use the results to help us plan for the future needs of our community.

“I am pleased to see satisfaction with garbage collection and regular recycling rated at an excellent level, alongside our library services.

Cr Kesic said the survey results also highlighted the importance of traffic and road related issues for the City of Melton.

“Transport was again a key issue for our community and it highlights the importance of Council’s continued advocacy in these areas. We are calling on all parties to fund a series of essential road upgrades to ensure an efficient and safe road network via the Fix Our Roads campaign.

“I’d like to thank the community for taking part in the survey. Your valuable insight helps council to understand what is important to our community and where we can improve.”

The services with the highest levels of satisfaction this year were regular garbage collection (8.63), regular recycling (8.58), library services (8.58), green waste collection (8.54), hard rubbish collection (7.78), community centres / neighbourhood houses (7.74), and sports grounds and associated facilities (7.73).

The overall satisfaction with the 34 included council services and facilities was 7.17 out of 10, which is regarded as a “good” level of average satisfaction.
