A teenage boy has been charged following an incident at a high school in Granville.
Emergency services were called to the school on Rowley Road about 10.15am (Thursday 20 August 2026), responding to reports a 14-year-old boy had been injured.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command have been told the boy suffered a cut to his abdomen and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
A knife was seized and a crime scene established.
A second student, also aged 14, was detained on-site before police arrived and took him into custody.
He was assessed at Auburn Hospital for an injury to his hand before being taken to Granville Police Station and charged with reckless wounding and affray.
He was refused bail to appear before Children’s Court tomorrow, Friday 21 August 2026.
