Georges River Council is excited to announce the artists who will be exhibiting as part of the Community Art Space program in 2027.
The Community Art Space program provides opportunities for emerging or established artists who are connected to the Georges River area to share their works with the community in our exhibition spaces.
Exhibition applications for the Dragon’s Lair Gallery at Hurstville Museum & Gallery and Clive James Library and Service Centre in Kogarah were accepted from June 1 to July 26. A record number of submissions were received this year, with the standard and quality of exhibition proposals exceptionally high.
Selected artists in painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, and more will be on display in 2027. Due to the high volume of applications, this is also the first year that a group show will be formed from selected submissions.
These collaborative shows allow Council to support more artists through the program as well as providing additional opportunities for professional development and community engagement
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “The Community Art Space program showcases the incredible creativity within our community and provides artists with valuable opportunities to share their work with a wider audience.”
“I congratulate all successful applicants and look forward to seeing these exhibitions inspire and connect residents and visitors throughout 2027.”
