Summer in Parks to return with COVID-safe changes

The City of Greater Bendigo’s popular Summer in the Parks series is back, with all upcoming outdoor cinema and music events to be held at the Bendigo Botanic Gardens Garden for the Future.

To ensure everyone can enjoy Summer in the Parks in a COVID-safe way and to help manage crowd numbers, attendees are asked to:

Numbers for each event have been capped at 350 and tickets will be available online up until 4pm on the Friday of each event. Tickets cannot be purchased at the gate.

City Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis thanked the community for its understanding.

“We have a great program planned and look forward to screening fun, family-friendly movies and showcasing a range of talented local musicians over the months of January, February and March,” Mr Karamaloudis said.

“We encourage attendees to bring along a picnic rug, chairs and their favourite picnic food, and come together with family and friends for some wonderful free entertainment.

“In order to host Summer in the Parks this year, we are having to do some things differently so as to keep people COVID-safe. We chose the Garden for the Future as it is an easy location to best track crowd numbers and safely manage people entering and exiting the venue.

“We will also have additional staff and security to ensure social distancing is maintained.

“We appreciate everyone’s understanding so as we can return to attending and enjoying events again.”

Bendigo Botanic Gardens Garden for the Future is located in Hamelin Street, White Hills.
