SunCentral appointment ensures continuity

Morgan Parker will continue as chair of SunCentral Maroochydore Pty Ltd until April 30, 2023 following his re-election by the SunCentral board.

SunCentral was established by Sunshine Coast Council in early 2015 to oversee the development of the new Maroochydore City Centre on Council’s behalf.

Originally appointed as one of the five inaugural directors of the SunCentral board in March 2015, Mr Parker has been chair since May 1 this year.

“Morgan Parker brings to the role strong commercial expertise in delivering major city shaping projects the scale of the Maroochydore City Centre and extensive global experience in master-planned urban development, investment banking and marketing,” Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson said.

“Council congratulates Mr Parker and looks forward to continuing to work with him and the SunCentral board and our development partner, Walker Corporation, through this exciting new phase of the Maroochydore City Centre project.”

The SunCentral board of directors currently comprises Mr Parker, Alison Quinn and Paul McLean.

Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson said the SunCentral Board has a wealth of experience across a range of industries and professional skills sets including governance, corporate management, property and infrastructure development, commercial investment markets and stakeholder management.

Morgan Parker:

Mr Parker has over 27 years experience as a real estate developer, investor and banker at some of the world’s leading firms, including Morgan Stanley, Macquarie Bank, Lendlease, Dubai Holding and the Rockefeller family. During his executive career, Mr Parker was involved in 60 projects across nine countries totalling over $20 billion. Mr Parker currently maintains a portfolio of five non-executive roles. He is a board member at Newcastle Airport, UbiPark, Saudi Entertainment Ventures and the ASX-listed Garda Property Group.
