Sunday Funday in Churchill

It’s on again! The Latrobe City Council, Sunday Funday is back this Sunday, 19 January at the Churchill Leisure Centre.

Latrobe City Council, Latrobe Leisure and Living Well Latrobe have a full schedule of free, fun activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Attracting hundreds to last year’s event, Sunday Funday is a great way for families and friends to get out and about. Have fun together, and meet and connect with others in the community.

Latrobe City Council, Mayor Cr Dan Clancey said that Sunday Funday provided all in the community with a range of free activities.

“Sunday Funday is an initiative of the Latrobe City Council Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and importantly provides a platform for our community to get together and meet one another. In previous years the day has successfully engaged hundreds of families, it is one that is marked on the calendar and eagerly anticipated,” Mayor Clancey said.

“There are loads of free activities on offer from free swimming, Salti classes, outdoor inflatables, farmyard petting zoo and for those who are feeling really energetic, you can get a taste of our fitness classes or pedal hard and make your own smoothie on the Smoothie Bike.

“This open day allows Latrobe City to showcase the facilities and range of activities that we have right here in our own backyard. This is a free casual day for all, with plenty to keep the kids occupied!”

Sunday Funday will include a free BBQ, activities from Latrobe Streetgames and will conclude with an outdoor movie screening of ‘PETS’.

Due to the poor air quality being experienced in the region, as a result of the East Gippsland bushfires, changes may occur to this event to ensure the health and safety of both staff and patrons. These changes may occur at short notice due to monitoring of conditions relating to weather and air quality. The community will be informed via Facebook and the event links.

Sunday Funday is hosted by Latrobe City Leisure Churchill in partnership with Living Well Latrobe and GippSport and is proudly supported by Gippsland Water and Optus.
